Thanks for doing this, Mr Rottmair. It helps tremendously to all of us dreaming of joining the United Nations sometime in the (hopefully!) near future.
In my case I am a former civil servant (Scottish Government) although I am not British and since I started to apply for UN jobs I have noticed some progress in my job-hunting.
At the beginning I never ever made the shortlists but I have kept on improving my profile on the Roster, doing courses which could prove beneficial etc and I have definitely noticed a positive change.
I am hopeful I will join the organization either this year or 2015/6.
I would like to encourage those in the same situation as mine to never give up hope! Lots of luck to all of you reading this.
