Did you check the link in the above? Assuming a GL4 is similar to a GS4 it should give you a pretty good idea what the range is.
Hi Asjadkhan,
can you tell me which organisation? I might be able to help.
Hi all,
since a majority asked for it (see the poll above) – I implemented the search to list all jobs in a country, when you look for the main duty station.
Example: https://unjoblist.org/results.php?dts=rome will list all Italian jobs even if the duty station is not specified.
Hi Tayeb,
what exactly would you like to know? I posted the link to the salary calculator of UNDP a few days ago. GL4 / LICA4 should be the in the same ballpark as a UNDP GS4.
Good luck,
SebastianThat’s not typically the case. Of course if you are “in between” your previous salary may tip the scale. But normally the job is graded (that’s what determines your level/grade), then your step is the relevant experience that you bring to the job (i.e. years you are doing the job).
For ICAs, ICs and other consultants, that’s a different ballgame though -then the rules are much more flexible…
Hi Pruk,
I know the process can be really long. However, there are stories of success out there (see the other posts in this forum).
But it can be a long and laborious process…
Hi Anja,
yes, that’s intentional to make the search flexible
Hi both,
yes, correct – the UNDP salary calculator is here: https://info.undp.org/gssu/onlinetools/SalCalcLocal/SalCalcLocal.aspx
Please let us know if you succeed in getting the desired information. Thanks!
Wow, yes, that’s a long time. I would do a gentle follow-up after the interview…
Hi all,
I need your help – what do you prefer?
Feel free to let me know in the comments below. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! Good luck going forward!
Hi CnK – thanks for sharing! I know it can be very frustrating as a process. And I’m aware that it is very hard to ace the profile, the tests, the interviews and finally get the job.
As difficult to see that, the truth is, that there are typically many people applying to a job that meet all the requirements. In short, even if you are the 100% perfect match for a job, there is no guarantee that you will get it – which is frustrating, but not an indicator that the process is not fair/transparent.If you apply very broadly from P3 to D1 – I would recommend you sharpen your profile a bit more and target your applications: In UN terms, there are worlds of difference between a P3 and a D1.
If I were the hiring manager and I would see you apply to that range of jobs, I would be worried if you know what you get yourself into.
Good luck job hunting!
Sorry, this is a SCAM. It is NOT a real UN DESA job. Don’t take my word for it – check this on the UN’s website:
http://www.un.org/en/sections/about-website/fraud-alert/index.html
Hi there,
how did you apply? Through INSPIRA? Was there an interview? What you describe sounds dangerously close to a scam…
Whatever you do – send absolutely NO money!
A) Yes, I would assume the next step is an offer
B) I blogged about that some time ago – check out this post here: https://www.rottmair.de/2011/08/03/un-recruitment-what-steps-take-how-long-in-the-process/
C) I would give this at least 2 weeks – if they need to conduct a recruitment review, it may take a few days. Then getting the document with the offer in order will take some time, too.
Good luck!
