Hi all,
I did work on the search for the UN Job List – and I hope I found a way to improve the search. In future you will be able to search jobs not just by duty station but by region / country and also multiple locations at the same time.
Head over here: https://unjoblist.org/s
And try the following values for Duty Station:
Example 1: “Rome Copenhagen” (no quotes) will give you jobs in both Copenhagen and Rome
https://unjoblist.org/results.php?dts=rome+copenhagenExample 2: “Americas” (no quotes) will give you jobs in all of North and South America
https://unjoblist.org/results.php?dts=americasExample 3: “Africa” (no quotes) will give you jobs in Africa
https://unjoblist.org/results.php?dts=AfricaExample 4: “Home” (not quotes) will give you home-based jobs
https://unjoblist.org/results.php?dts=homeI just implemented the changes over night. And I know not all jobs on the site currently are correctly tagged yet. I also know this only works online for now (not affecting the weekly newsletter).
But I have a few requests:
Can you test the system? Can you tell me what you think of the search? Can you tell me if/when you find any bugs? Thanks!
Hi all,
I need your help – what do you prefer?
Feel free to let me know in the comments below. Thanks!

ParticipantThanks. It works for me. Does this work for the newsletter, too? Or is this only for the page search?
Anja
ParticipantI did more testing- I discovered that you can search for partial words in duty stations also – I like that. Is that intentional?
Hi Anja,
yes, that’s intentional to make the search flexible
Anja
ParticipantOkay thank you.
Hi all,
since a majority asked for it (see the poll above) – I implemented the search to list all jobs in a country, when you look for the main duty station.
Example: https://unjoblist.org/results.php?dts=rome will list all Italian jobs even if the duty station is not specified.
