Evaluator Consultancies

Hi,

I have been working on research for agricultural development for the last 7 years in several countries. I’m trying to orientate myself towards monitoring and evaluation of projects, as I see there is a lot of demand for consultants on this.

Any advice on any key qualifications or courses I should take? Most job offers demand experience with project evaluation/monitoring, but just wondering how to get into this world (i.e. how to start getting the experience on this)

I think the more certifications you have in this area, the better. Also, having a CV that has items dealing with evaluations is a good starting point.

I would also check out the UN Evaluations Group: http://www.uneval.org/about – maybe they have resources? Good luck!
