Hi Be the Change,
Thank you for your kind wishes!
Here are the answers to your queries –
1. The gap was only 3 days
2. End
3. No, nothing at all. The interview started very late like 1.5 hours or so. And they were in a hurry so they asked me to be brief. The interview had gone well, but I kept feeling that if I had time I might have done better. I absolutely had no sense of whether this was going to get me through or not.Thank you guys!
This time I’ve been successful in getting through! I will be joining UNICEF in a couple of weeks.
My timeline looked like this –
Week 1: Application and Written Assessment (with just a few days break in between)
Week 2: Interview
Week 4: Reference checks
Week 10: Original documents check
Week 20: OfferNote that there was zero communication from the HR between any two steps. They did not commit to any deadline either.
The forum has been a great support, and I’m sure it will continue to be. Thank you, everyone!
Hey,
No, I haven’t heard back from them about the position yet :/ No word from the HR..
Hello everyone,
Would love to hear your responses to the post called ‘the waiting game’!
Thanks! They did the reference check two weeks after the interview. They did inform me about it.
I have not received an offer yet! So no idea about salary negotiation!
Hey Synthia,
So the next step for me after the interview was reference check and then they called me in person to check the original documents.
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for your encouraging words, Cnk. I am keeping my fingers crossed. For a looong time now!
It indeed is very frustrating to have to wait when the employer has not committed to any specific time line for the recruitment process. I have applied
for UNICEF and after several steps was invited 7 weeks ago for original documents check. No communication since. :/Thanks a lot!
Hi guys,
I have applied to a position with UNICEF. I have completed the written assignment, interview and reference check. Last week they called me to check my original documents.
A. Is it okay to assume that the next communication should be an offer now? Or do they go through reference checks and documents check for more than one candidate?
B. What could be the internal steps that the HR must be completing now?
C. How many days should I wait before checking with them about the progress? Why do they not commit to a date and say you’ll hear by so and so date? The anxious wait takes so much energy!!
